Tallman Miniatures
I started making crafts in January 2022. I’ve always wanted a creative outlet, and I started watching people on YouTube do something similar, so I thought I’ll give it a go. My first make was a miniature version of the wizard’s tower from Stardew Valley.
I only started selling in February 2023. I love hearing people at markets tell me stories that relate to my crafts, because it feels like it sparks memories for them and gives them something to talk about. I love hearing people’s experience, and that they’re relating to something I’ve made.
I make everything in my home in Belfast, NI. I have a corner in my bedroom dedicated to crafting. From the first idea to the finished craft, it usually takes about 2 weeks. I don’t use anything too fancy: some foam, some cardboard, some wood, a bit of paint, a few rulers, and knives. I get a lot of my materials from recycled items.
Research-wise, I look for reference photos. A lot of inspiration comes from places I’ve visited, so I take lots of pictures while I’m out. The first channel I started watching was Studson Studios. I also really like Bill Making Stuff and Adam Savage
