Miniatura

My mum inspired me when she brought back a miniature tea set from abroad. That was just the beginning and it wasn’t long before I had a large Kendrew house.

In 2002 we moved from Hertfordshire to Northamptonshire and I joined a local dolls house club.

Our new neighbour bought a dollshouse. I started making accessories like towels, dresses etc.. these were well received and I took them to a car boot sale where people bought them! Jill (my neighbour) kept saying “What else can you make?”

Fast forward to 2006 and my first dolls house fair. I learnt so much by listening to people, what they liked and what they needed.

My husband, Michael, and I work well together, he is a retired mechanical design engineer and you can usually find him doing woodwork and metal work in the garage. Me (retired draughtswoman) on the dining room table next to my dollshouse. Most of our designs are our own and have evolved over the years responding to what customers want. Scaling the ideas we have seems to come naturally to us both.

Coming to Miniatura will be the icing on the cake.
