Miniatura

When I was a child, we made do with what we had, and in that way of saying arts and crafts were not only a pastime but essential for daily living. I always made something out of nothing, so everything started from there. 

I’ve always been a creative person. Sewing was my first job, floristry my second. Later in life, I owned my own craft shop and taught crafts. I found myself being interested in miniatures in the 1990’s, having started with floral miniatures. It was my late husband’s favourite song that gave me the name for my small business “Say it with flowers”. 

After making my first dolls house, I made my first climbing rose and window box. This set off a love of miniatures. It takes time to make my flowers and etc, for example, my Christmas Trees take 10 to 11 days. Most of my work for the floral miniatures uses paper and I never use plastic. 

I love the venue at Kensington and dollhouse fair. I also value and enjoy the relationships with continued customers, as well as the other miniaturists at KDF. I find great pleasure in all crafts people’s individuals’ abilities. I simply love being a miniaturist and look forward to my first Miniatura.
