ThreeDAndy
3D printed miniatures to complement both modern and classic dollhouses.
I’m Andy, the maker behind ThreeDAndy, creativity and making things have always been a big part of my life. Growing up I spent countless hours building kits from Airfix, experimenting with LEGO, and exploring everything from paper craft to digital design. At school I studied graphic design with a focus on 3D drawing, which naturally led me into the world of digital modelling and design. When professional quality 3D printers became more accessible, I decided to take the plunge in 2025 and bought my first printer. What started as a way to produce practical items for everyday work quickly developed into designing detailed 1/12 scale miniatures and dollhouse accessories.
Miniatures have always been part of my life thanks to helping my mum with her dollhouse builds for the past 17 years. When she asked if I could design staircase spindles for her Mediterranean villa, I created the design in scale and had it printing within hours. Seeing how quickly a digital idea could become a physical miniature opened the door to designing custom 3D printed dollhouse pieces. From that point on I began creating a growing range of 1/12 scale items, combining traditional miniature inspiration with modern 3D design techniques.
I later opened a shop on Etsy where I share my designs with other dollhouse collectors and miniaturists. After visiting Miniatura in September, I knew I wanted to exhibit my work, connect with the miniature community and develop new ideas inspired by other makers. Designing miniatures comes very naturally to me. I enjoy taking a reference image or concept and recreating it accurately in 1/12 scale while carefully planning how each part prints, assembles and functions. One of my most technically detailed pieces so far has been a miniature log burning stove, complete with working elements such as tiny hinges that required careful design and testing.
My aim is to complement traditional miniature craftsmanship rather than replace it. By using 3D printing I can offer both modern and classic dollhouse miniatures, often incorporating LED lighting and durable materials such as PETG that are well suited to detailed miniature environments. I’m particularly passionate about creating pieces that feel realistic, functional and unique within a dollhouse setting. It’s incredibly rewarding knowing that my work becomes part of someone’s miniature home and will be enjoyed for years to come.
Visitors can expect a growing range of detailed 1/12 scale miniatures and 3D printed dollhouse accessories across several themes. I’m currently developing a pub and bar collection including miniature fridges, bar taps and bar accessories, alongside commercial style chiller units and food display cabinets often seen in cafés, pubs and shops. I’m also expanding into modern bathroom fixtures, with a focus on contemporary designs as well as some traditional pieces, plus miniature gym equipment, fireplaces and everyday lifestyle items. New additions such as modern picnic accessories, cool boxes, drinks flasks and cooling blocks are also in development, all designed to bring realistic and practical details into dollhouses, dioramas and miniature scenes.
