Amanda’s Mini Arcadia
Specialising in 1:48th scale food, accessories, fine furniture and architecture.
Having avidly enjoyed 1/12th scale for many years before life and a real house took over, it was with the coming of covid, and a moment one Sunday afternoon when I sat on the sofa and ripped up my diary for the rest of the year, that I concluded not only was I going to back to miniatures, but I was going to embark on the smaller scales. Although I adore 1/24th, 1/48th has become my go to. Creating entire streets on a shelf and tackling the challenges of detail at this size fuel my passion as a collector and creator. Achieving realism, especially with food, can be tricky, but it was a challenge I wished to accept.
Then at the end of 2025 life shifted once again and I was able to realistically look at the possibility of bringing to the public all the enchanted dainty things I had started looking at creating to add that extra layer of detail to the smaller scales. And so, with my first appearance at Miniatura (Spring 2026) I present for delectation a range of 1:48th scale foods, from the simple to the intricate, dripping with traditional character and whimsical charm.
Cauliflowers to cream laced eclairs can now take up their places in mini kitchens, bakeries and cafes far and wide, offering a delicious level of detail. Items will be available as DIY (to be painted at home) or ready painted by myself. Small scenes and diorama enhancing elements will also be available along with a currently small range of historically accurate fine furniture and architectural detailing.
Quite simply, it is all daintily delicious.
