Welcome to my Miniatura page.

I’m Louise Goldsborough/Bird and I have been a professional miniature doll artist and doll costumier since 1988 when I first established Angelique Miniatures.

Born and brought up in Cornwall, I now live in the English Riviera region of South Devon (United Kingdom) where I work from home in my custom made doll studio.   

I originally trained and worked as a dancer, singer and actress and, with my love of the performing arts, historical costume, dolls and all things miniature, it seemed only natural for me to combine these passions when I established Angelique Miniatures all those years ago.

I design and create high quality one twelfth scale miniature character dolls in historical costume from all eras, as well as fantasy and fairy folk (also one twelfth scale). I cast all my miniature dolls in fine bisque porcelain and they are then individually delicately hand-painted and wigged by me. I also costume each doll using my own original patterns.

 I accept commissions and am more than happy to work from customers’ own ideas or pictures. I am also happy to create similar designs to those shown on my web site or social media. The choice is yours, so please feel free to contact me to discuss what you would like.

As a regular contributor to DHMS (Dollshouse and Miniature Scene) magazine, I have provided doll dressing ‘how-to’ projects for over a decade, as my way of sharing my skills and know-how with amateur mini doll dressers all over the world.

If you also collect larger scale dolls, you may be interested to know that I create costumes and fashion clothing to fit several larger scale adult collector dolls, from vintage one sixth scale Barbie, Sindy, Daisy etc. (and also the more modern Silkstone Barbie) to one quarter scale adult fashion dolls such as Gene, Tyler Wentworth, Alex, to name but a few. My love of classical ballet also led to me producing a large range of dance costumes for the one quarter scale Clea Bella and Tonner NYCB ballerina dolls.  Examples of many of these can be seen on my web site and social media pages.
