Miniatura

I have been recreating realistic miniature food for 6 years and am self-taught. I find weaving baskets and carving cutting boards quite relaxing. I enjoy creating scenes showing how food brings sustenance, comfort and creates memories. My favourite creations are rustic, foraged blackberries, apples, freshly baked bread.

Many of my pieces are nostalgic, influenced by gran’s country-kitchen. She taught me the importance of self-sufficiency. I hope my work inspires. She helped me build a dollhouse from scraps, courtesy of grandad, furnished with a cotton-spool table and handkerchief bedspread. It might seem too homemade for some but at the time it was grand!
