I started making miniature plants about 15 years ago after buying a beautiful dolls house. I have always been into crafts even as a child. miniatures opened up a whole new experience for me. I decided that my dolls house needed a garden and as a keen Gardner I knew that it had to be good. Unfortunately I found that what I could afford didn’t look realistic and the ones that did were out of my price range. Thats when I decided to have a go and make my own. I decided to do a little craft fair and Lucille Locket was created.
I get my inspiration from my own garden and my love of plants and flowers. I try to make them as realistic as possible, as I am a perfectionist they sometimes end up in the bin until I’m happy that I achieved as near as possible to the real thing.
I only exhibit at Miniatura now and after a long absence Andy and his team welcomed me back in 2024.
The media I use is mainly paper. I love working with this as clay is not my thing I make most of my pots and containers myself and new for the Autumn show I have made miniature macrame indoor hangers.
Christmas trees is another thing I love to create and I hopefully will have some ready for the show.
