Pendon Museum

Display and demonstration from a museum that displays historic scale models representing the 1920s and 1930s

Pendon Museum

Through three extraordinary dioramas, Pendon Museum preserves the idyllic landscape and transport of the pre-WWII era in miniature form, creating a spectacular visual record of a by-gone era for future generations to enjoy. The main exhibit, ‘The Vale Scene’, is a vast model landscape conceived by our founder Roye England in the 1930s when he saw that the beauty of his Oxfordshire surroundings was fast disappearing under the progress of modern industry. His passion for preservation inspired many others and today the scene continues to be worked on by expert modellers, now featuring over 150 tiny accurate models of real cottages and other rural structures, animals, people and transport.
