Victorian bottle & pots.

Potty Harper

I’m relatively new to the world of miniature making but I am already completely obsessed. I’m a passionate collector of Victorian bottles and pots and wanted to find mini versions of these for my own dolls house project. I wanted stoneware pots that would make you feel like you’d stepped back in time. But there was a problem, I couldn’t find exactly what I had in mind.

That’s when the light bulb moment hit me, why not make those tiny pots myself? I got myself a miniature pottery wheel and had a go. Working on such a small scale requires a very steady hand and a lot of patience, it’s incredibly challenging but it’s also immensely rewarding.

In a world where mass-produced dollhouse accessories dominate the market, I take pride in the fact that I’ve created these pots with my own two hands, never using moulds or templates, therefore making each piece unique. The thing I love the most about the world of miniatures is that it has something for everyone, the make-believers, the purists and those who just want to relive their childhood. It’s like being part of a massive club where everyone is welcome.
