I’m Lucy, artist and creator behind Smaller Things, where I build miniature worlds that are a little darker, a little stranger, and often a little magical.
Working mainly in 1:48 scale, with occasional ventures into 1:144 and 1:24, I create dioramas and room boxes inspired by folklore, gothic fiction, dystopian worlds, horror, fantasy and the wonderfully uncanny. Many of my pieces combine lighting, movement, optical illusions and hidden details, inviting viewers to look twice and discover something new each time.
Some creations are designed and built entirely from scratch, while others begin life as commercial kits before being extensively reimagined with original modifications, bespoke details and storytelling. My work is less about recreating reality and more about transforming ideas into immersive miniature worlds full of atmosphere, curiosity and a touch of the unexpected.
