Miniatura

From my home on the beautiful Isle of Anglesey I make realistic looking hand stitched patchwork quilts and cushions and “hooked” style rugs. I also sell a small range of hand crafted furniture made by my talented husband.

 

 

My quilts and rugs take many hours of work and thousands of tiny stitches to give the authentic look and feel that I strive for. I’m mostly self taught but come from a family of needle women, painters and makers. I have always been interested in sewing and crafting, from full size soft furnishings, rugs and upholstery, to making detailed historical costumes. I particularly love hand sewing and detail work so stitching in miniature was a marriage made in heaven!

 

 

I entered the world of miniatures around 10 years ago and absolutely love it. My own collection consists of only one dolls house “Granny’s House”. It’s my attempt to recreate my Granny’s house where I spent many happy childhood holidays. From the start I wanted everything to be as realistic as possible and that’s what I strive for in the miniatures I make.

 

 

I attended Miniatura for the first time as an exhibitor in 2019 and loved the experience, the wonderful feedback from fellow creators and customers was so lovely, it inspired me to open my Etsy shop, which has proved very successful showcasing my work to an international audience. A lot of my work is commissioned which I really enjoy as there is nothing more satisfying than meeting or, better still surpassing, a customers expectations.
