The Miniature Needlework Society
DISPLAY for the promotion of all varieties of miniature needlework in 1/12th scale or less.
The Miniature Needlework Society was founded in 1997, its aim being to encourage all forms of needlework from needlepoint and patchwork to lace making and smocking – and everything in-between, all of course in 1/12th and relative scales.
The society has around 300 members in the UK and abroad. They keep in touch through the society’s website, Facebook, newsletters and a twice-yearly full colour magazine. They also hold regional workshops, attend shows where they run workshops, as well as meeting locally in each other’s homes.
They also publish information packs on needlework techniques and sourcing materials. Members have created a range of Starter Booklets, obtainable through their website. These cover the skills of: Assisi Work, Beadwork, Blackwork, Bobbin Lace, Braiding, Canvaswork, Crewelwork, Crochet, Filet Lace, Florentine, Goldwork, Hardanger, Knitted Lace, Knitting, Macrame, Needlepoint, Patchwork, Pattern Darning, Smocking and Tatting. The society welcomes everyone, from complete beginners to experts.
