Miniatura

My interest in doll house miniatures started approximately 30 years ago when I first saw a miniature doll at an exhibition in Johannesburg South Africa. I immediately fell in love with the intricate detail and artistic splendour of small scale dolls, arte-facts and the world of miniatures in general,.

I mainly work in ceramics . My inspiration comes from amongst other things, renaissance artists, folk tales, traditional crafts, historical places and events and famous landmarks, hence the name “ Tiny Treasures around the World”.

All items are cast in moulds from original sculptures and hand painted. Each and every item is made with love and sincerest appreciation to the original artist, a treasure from my heart.

I have exhibited at various Fairs in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Milan, Apeldoorn, Doetinchiem, Mannheim, Arnhem and London. I always dreamt about a opportunity to exhibit in Miniatura., as I would love to meet and learn from the world`s best miniature artists.
My very good friend Elmarie Wood-Calander assist me with making a lot of my moulds. My sister Marlene Delport helps with the production and exhibiting.

At my sons work a colleague drop a very small electric component. My son told everyone to, stand still as he will get it. He told them that he is used to crawl on the floor looking for small things , as he is doing it from the age of two on a daily basis.
