Miniatura 2020 – UPDATE Friday 13th March – Ticket Refunds
As many of you know we have regrettably had to postpone the Spring Miniatura 2020 and re-schedule to 20th & 21st March 2021.
We have always appreciated the support we get from exhibitors and visitors alike and we will be offering visitors who have pre-booked tickets two simple and fair options.
1. Re-use
Your tickets can be re-used on the new show dates of 20th & 21st March 2021 on the corresponding day, naturally these tickets will be unaffected by any price increases between now and the Spring 2021 show. We have had an overwhelming vote of confidence from the exhibitors and we plan to build on that by gaining more, so the show next year should be bigger and better than this one would have been.
2. Refund
If you prefer you may have a full refund for your ticket. We are also including a refund of any transaction fee. Miniatura will be covering all admin costs involved in this process and we would like to thank The Ticket Factory for facilitating this. The deadline for returning tickets is the 31st July so you have plenty of time.
How to get your refund
If you bought your ticket directly from Miniatura (from our information stand, by post or at one of the promotional events we attended) then please contact us directly at office@miniatura.co.uk or by phone 0121 783 9922 (during normal office hours).
If you bought your ticket via The Ticket Factory then either call 0333 300 3010 or complete and return the form you will find here (best method for overseas customers) – https://public.mc.hostedcc.com/nec/forms/OnlineEmailForm
Many thanks for supporting Miniatura and we hope to see you at our next event at NAEC Stoneleigh Park on 26th & 27th September 2020 or at the NEC next March!
Thursday 12th March
In the light of the issues relating to Covid-19 [the corona virus] we regret that we find the only sensible option now open to us is to postpone the Spring 2020 show.
We have held on for as long as possible to the hope that we could run the show but it has become apparent that doing so might increase the problems we all face. Additionally our audience tends to be in the older age groups and we are particularly sensitive to that fact. We would like to apologise to everyone who was looking forward to the show and we have appreciated your supportive messages over the last few weeks.
Our costs relating to the Corona virus are uninsurable but we do want to do all we can to help visitors and exhibitors.
After much discussion with the NEC we have been offered the chance to postpone this show to Spring 2021. If you have pre-booked tickets for Spring 2020 they can be used on the new dates of 20th & 21st March 2021 instead. If you are unable to use them we will offer a full refund (excluding any transaction fees).
We will be offering something similar to our exhibitors and we all hope that the Spring Miniatura show on 20th & 21st March 2021 will be just as good or better than this one would have been.
We would like to remind visitors that, whilst it’s no substitute for a visit to the show, the vast majority of exhibitors have websites and we would encourage visitors to support them through this difficult period. You can see them all on our gallery of exhibitors throughout the rest of March.
Thank you for your understanding in this matter at this most difficult time for our organisation. Naturally if you have any questions please do get in touch and we will share any new information right here.

Hi how do I go about getting refund on my tickets
tayla19@live.co.uk
Hi Deborah, More information will be out soon but rest assured there will be plenty of time to sort this out and we will make sure everyone who wants a refund gets one.
I have just ask for a refund from the tickets factory to be told they would not refund the full amount as per their T@C so l have lost over £6
So much for a refund.
Hi lorna, you are definitely entitled to a full refund. It’s possible you were redirected to the wrong person and were given standard procedure. Can you double check you used the phone number shown on the original post? In any case I will make sure you are fully refunded. Email me at office@miniatura.co.uk.
Regrettable but the right thing to do
See you in autumn
So sad but inevitable 🙁
See you in 2021!
Hi I can’t make the miniature spring show 2021 how do I get a refund thankyou
Hi Tina, More information will be out soon about this but rest assured we will make sure that everyone who wants a refund gets one.
Thanks for letting me know. It’s understandable and I will look forward to the next show
How do I get a refund on my ticket?
Hi Tanya, More information will come out soon on our website, via the ticket factory and by newsletter. The ticket refunds will be available for a long time so there is no need to worry about that. We want to make sure we do this right.
Hi Tanya, Please see the update to this blog post.
Are the shows moving forward going to be at the NEC or Coventry. Can we use tickets for the autumn show
Hi Tracey, I expect the tickets for Autumn to cost less than the NEC ones. So if you are not able to come to the NEC next Spring it’s probably best to get the refund and buy fresh for Autumn.
I want a full refund please and will not be attending later dates as we got to recoup the cost of a hotel room now.
Hi Samantha, I am sorry you weren’t able to cancel the room, many hotels are being understanding in the circumstances, even if it’s just offering a credit for another time. Contact me directly at office@miniatura.co.uk with the details and I will see if there is anything I can do. Rest assured that everyone who wants a refund will be getting one.
Hi Samantha, Please see the update to this blog post for details of how to get your refund.
Hi Andy and all at Miniatura – I totally understand the position you are taking and was half expecting the spring Miniatura event to be cancelled. I think it is a sensible precaution given how this virus could impact on some vulnerable people. I look forward to using my ticket for spring 2021!
I’m really sorry that you have had to cancel but understand your concerns, this was going to be my first visit and I’m gutted, I will keep my tickets and look forward to visiting next year.
Thank you for posting your decision. My very vulnerable mother was really, really looking forward to coming to miniatura but far better safe than sorry. We are taking your advice and contacting your exhibitors through their websites.
Goodmorning,
I live in the Netherlands en bought 2 tickets. I am unable to use them a other date.
I payed the tickets by visa and i would like a refund.
Can you please contact me?
Hi Betty, We are finalising exactly how we will do this but rest assured that everyone who needs a refund will be getting one.
Hi again Betty, Please see the update to this blog post.
We are so sorry and fully understand. We all have to support one another in this dreadful situation. We attend Miniatura twice yearly so fingers crossed for September. I will support our Artisans from purchasing from their websites, it’s not the same as the wonderful atmosphere created at Miniatura though!
Miniatura shows are the highlights of the year for me and I’ve visited since the first show. This morning I decided not to go to the Spring Show 😢 and then I saw this email about it being postponed 😢. I am 81 and I feel many visitors would have made the same decision I made. So sad though.
Very sad but necessary, thank you for putting your customers and traders first. I’ll have a browse of some trader sites to make up for it. Looking forward to next year’s show, going straight in the diary!
How do I get a refund for the 21st March show?
Hi Joanna, we have been talking to the Ticket Factory this morning and should have a system in place very soon. Rest assured everyone who needs a full refund will get one (less any transaction fees).
H Joanna, Please see the update to this blog post.
Only sensible thing to do. This sort of situation is no ones fault so no point getting upset with organisers, I am sure they are doing their best.
I have lots more time now to develope new ideas. Think positive people !!!!
Thank you for doing what you have done re sensible measures now and negotiating the chance to use our prebooked tickets next March. This situation is no ones deliberate fault. We appreciate all you do and look fwd to next year.
This is bad news, but inevitable. Would it be possible to use the tickets for the Autumn Miniatura?
Good question Maura, the easy answer is yes of course we will honour the Spring tickets at the new venue in Autumn. In reality you will be better off getting the refund though as we expect the Autumn tickets will cost less. More info in April and no rush to get the refund which is available until the end of July.
We love the show but a sensible decision and quite understandable under the circumstances.
How were we supposed to know that you had decided to cancel? I only looked at your website tonight by chance to see that you took this decision 2 days ago. Had I not looked we would have made a long and wasted journey next weekend
Hi Kathryn,
We had to respond quickly as the situation changed, and continues to change, so fast.
We managed to get a statement onto facebook, Twitter and Instagram as well as our website straight away. Then we had to discuss the process of ticket refunds with the box office to make sure we could refund everyone in full. This was finalised on Friday.
We emailed all our newsletter Subscribers on Friday and the Ticket Factory has either emailed all ticket buyers or will be doing so very soon.
Naturally someone missing all this information is our biggest worry at the moment and I’ve spent this weekend contacting exhibitors. We can only hope that in the current situation everyone checks before they travel and shares the facts as much as possible.
Thank you for the opportunity to explain what we’ve done so far.
Perfectly understandable, will just keep my tickets till next year.
Thank you for letting us know.
So much for a full refund l am out of pocket. I am a WASPI woman l don’t go out much but this is one day l enjoy but everyone wants something for nothing
Hi Lorna,
I am looking into this for you. If you want to give me a call I would be happy to talk about it. 0121 783 9922
After I initially commented I seem to have clicked the -Notify me when new
comments are added- checkbox and from now on every time
a comment is added I receive four emails with the exact same comment.
Perhaps there is a means you can remove me from that service?
Cheers!
Hi,
As I’m not sure how to do that I have decided to remove comments from this post. Anyone who needs to contact us can do so by e-mail office@miniatura.co.uk.
