Find Your Own Style
In our latest article Ann Evans pays a virtual visit to Belinda Armstrong’s Georgian Town House kit. “She has spent the last six years putting her own take on it. “I did as much as I could myself in building it but had help from my husband in sticking it together. I’ve adapted it however and changed it somewhat from what it was meant to look like. For instance, I’ve changed the texture of the outer walls. I put sand in the paint to give a rough exterior, to try and make it look like stone. I spent a lot of time looking around Cheltenham at the amazing architecture for inspiration. Inside, I’ve put floor tiles down and I have used some painting techniques for the walls. Also, watching and referring to Pride & Prejudice (Kiera Knightly version) has been useful. I thought the house interiors in that film were amazing.”

March Prize Draw
Last month we had our first online treasure hunt and we want to thank Katy from Mini McGregor again for offering the prize. It was so successful we want to do it again! So now’s your chance to get hunting for the March prize treasure. It’s hidden somewhere on one of our exhibitors pages and all you have to do is find it. When you do there will be further instructions on how to enter.
Special Memories

Visiting shows is one of those special experiences that bond people together. Whether that’s meeting new friends or cementing lifelong family relationships it’s best done in person. We are all feeling this more acutely at the moment of course so when Pam Blackmore sent us her story it was all the more touching. Another special aspect of this story is that it was written by Pam’s daughter.
“Now, I’m not sure what it was that first drew my mum to dolls houses, but I do know that it was her passion. And, after a few trips with her to Miniatura, I was hooked too! It was our special thing, a tiny world just for the two of us, and we’d spend hours hunting down shops, seeing 12th scale everywhere we went. Malyn’s in Nottingham was one of Mum’s favourites. Then there was The Dollshouse Emporium in Derby, back then they had a shop you could visit and explore. I remember one in Lemington; and even on holiday in Holt, we managed to discover a little shop hidden down a side street. If there was a dolls house shop hidden away somewhere, you can bet your bottom dollar that we’d find it. But the real highlight of our adventures would be our yearly trip to Miniatura at the NEC. With so many treasures under one roof, we were in heaven!” – Read the whole story here – https://miniatura.co.uk/a-house-to-remember/

Autumn Miniatura
Now that Spring has been postponed for yet another year we are working towards our Autumn Show and we are more committed than ever to make it a fantastic celebration for all. We have updated our articles from last year about the new venue and the links are below. Hopefully some normality will return to us all by October but if there is still a need or a desire for social distancing we have the perfect place to make the aisles wide and space the exhibitors out. Naturally Miniatura attracts a lot of visitors but we want you to know that we will ALWAYS put your safety first. We want you to enjoy your hobby with confidence and in comfort.
